Guangxi Lingyun Haokun Lake National Wetland Park
Guangxi Lingyun Haokun Lake National Wetland Park is located at the junction of Xiajia Town and Lingzhan Yao Ethnic Township in Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, covering a total area of 1,312 hectares. It is an ecosystem centered on karst lake wetlands. Haokun Lake is a natural karst lake surrounded by mountains, with no visible surface runoff in sight, and its water inlets and outlets are karst caves.
Haokun Lake National Wetland Park features a variety of karst landforms including karst caves, karst windows, sinkholes, underground rivers, and peak cluster-depressions. As a habitat for 5 species of cave fish endemic to Guangxi such as the Lingyun golden-line barbel and Lingyun flat loach, the wetland park prioritizes fish conservation and aquatic ecological restoration. The wetland type combination of Haokun Lake is unique with a complete wetland series, and the water areas and karst stone mountains together form an integrated composite ecosystem. It possesses typical representativeness in the karst regions of southern China and even across the whole country.
Haokun Lake National Wetland Park is equipped with a range of tourist facilities including a lake-circling road, a lakeside cycling trail, multiple viewing platforms, mountain hiking trails and a boat dock, offering great convenience for visitors to tour the lake and enjoy its scenery. Here, you can admire the rolling mountains and get close to the water, go hiking or cycling, climb mountains or explore caves. You can also embark on an underground adventure through a cluster of connected karst caves and sinkholes, experience the local cultural and historical customs, or conduct research on the geological and geomorphic features of the area. In this scenic wonderland of mountains and waters, all your troubles and worries will simply melt away.
